It hasn't. It is included from the first release to enable (de)activate
the debug produced by the library. However, you must enable it at the
compilation time:

>> ./configure --enable-axl-log

It is odd because the axl debug is activated by default :-?

Returning back to the bug reported, check out the latest version [1].
The bug is now fixed and the regression test was updated to check it in
future release.
