[Axl] minor issues building axl

Hi Joan,

Can you provide commands you are using (some examples) to reproduce the
problem? 

I'm trying to build axl from outside top src dir (calling to configure)
but fails more things than only knife and tests (for example VERSION
file isn't found).

In the other hand, why not just use? 

cd DIRECTORY; ./configure ; make clean ; make ; cd -
