Thanks for the patch. I've applied it with some little modification due

Not really. Now vortex library internals uses vortex_channel_unref
rather than vortex_channel_free so, once the channel is created it is
supposed to have only one reference owned by the connection. 

This will allow to produce different scenarios built on top of reference
counting.
