[Vortex] CMake as build-system?

We did, but at this moment we have already developed our procedures to
build all the stuff using autoconf and plain make files....

I see. Maybe you can consider using VS express. When I used it to
compile axl and vortex, I didn't find too much problems (and I suspect
lot of them are due to inexperience at using VS).
