<div>Hi All,</div>
<div> </div>
<div>I have a basic question regarding how to compile libaxl/llibvortex on various *NIX platforms (<span style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt; FONT-FAMILY: 'Times New Roman','serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: Calibri; mso-fareast-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA">linux-x64, </span><span style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt; FONT-FAMILY: 'Times New Roman','serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: Calibri; mso-fareast-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA">Solaris-x64, <span style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt; FONT-FAMILY: 'Times New Roman','serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: Calibri; mso-fareast-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA">hpux-ia64, aix-ppc64</span></span>). I am able to compile libaxl on Linux64 by running following commands:</div>
<div> </div>
<div>% ./autogen.sh</div>
<div>% ./configure --prefix=<absolute location of libaxl directory></div>
<div>% make</div>
<div> </div>
<div>However when I proceed to compile the same on any other platform in the list above, I get the following error on the first command:</div>
<div>% ./autogen.sh</div>
<div><br><em>You must have automake installed to compile LibAXL: Another XML library implementation<br></em> </div>
<div>%</div>
<div><br>Looking at the autogen.sh script, it invokes multiple other tools like automake, autoconf, libtoolize, aclocal, autoheader etc. So my questions are:</div>
<div> </div>
<div>1) Is it mandatory to have the above tools (as a pre-requisite) to compile axl/vortex on any UNIX platform? </div>
<div> </div>
<div>2) Can't we copy the generated configure script (and other such files) from 1 platform and use it on any other? Does it have any OS/host specific info?</div>
<div> </div>
<div>3) If required, which packages to get and from where? What is the minimum version required for these? Can they be installed in a non-root login?</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Regards,</div>
