[Vortex] hang on quit -- "we still didn't received all replies" over and over

Glad you agree! Unfortunately, I think implementing it is a bit beyond  
my capabilities, as I'm not an expert in sockets or threading.

Is there a way to implement this atop the existing API? For example,  
can I tell channels to close asynchronously, and wait for them all to  
report success? That way I can either close the connection after all  
channels close, or shut it down after the timeout elapses.
