[Vortex] BUG: Endless warnings if connection is refused

Hi Jens,

This is now fixed at the svn (1.0/1.1). There was a missing check for
the connection status when timeout is activated, the frame received
reference is NULL and the connection is closed or not opened (masked by
the EINPROGRESS errno).
