[Vortex] Race condition in channel opening

Hi Jens,

I've managed to reproduce the problem by registering at the listener
side a handler to get a notification for each channel added [1] and then
issue a message if the channel runs the appropriate profile. Having this
activated the bug is showed as you describe. 

I've updated the channel creation code at the client side to fix this
and the regression test to reproduce and check the fix introduced.
